DC10 Closed For 12 Months and 300,000 Euro Fine!! :-(
Spanish authorities have ordered Ibiza club DC10 to close for a year and pay a fine of €300,000, for over-crowding and noise pollution.

The hugely popular after-hours venue was hit with the ruling just days before it was due to re-open after being closed for 57 days for drugs problems last year and now faces a hugely uncertain future, according to Ibiza-Voice.com.

“DC 10 can contest the decision, they have one month to do so. The club should then be able to open next weekend till the end of the season,” the Balearic nightlife portal explained.

“As previously mentioned the threat against DC10 is stronger then ever,” Ibiza-voice added, “Enjoy it, as it could be the last days of DC10 as we know it.”

Meanwhile, British house music organization Azuli thumbed their noses at Ibiza’s increasingly harsh club crackdown, issuing a triumphant press release this week boasting about getting away with hosting an unlicensed beach party they staged featuring Radio 1 top dog Pete Tong.

“Azuli’s secret beach party in Ibiza on 6th August was closed down by police before it had a chance to get started,” Azuli’s press release explained.

“However, in the true spirit of the best underground parties, Azuli refused to take the closure lying down. They packed up all the equipment and moved the entire party to a new secret location,” it added.

“The music, chilled Balearic from the legendary Jon Sa Trinxa, through to the latest electronic edged house from David Piccioni and Pete Tong, saw the party gradually move from a laid back, beach affair into a packed out, hands in the air, unforgettable party as the night progressed,” they added.

Azuli also promised to host another illegal party in the near future that will be ‘even more underground’.

Last time i went i found it to be full of people who just aren't there for the right reasons i feelIs this still the case anyone??

Unfortunately this is a classic case of success bringing commercialism. It's tough getting the balance between filling the place out and keeping it underground. As with society nowadays everyone's looking for the next big thing and as soon as someone said that thing was DC10 everyone started flocking there. Next year everyone will probably be saying that Zoo Project isn't the same as it was last year for this same reason.

Also can you blame then for trying to get as many people through the door as they can seeing as they're could end up only being open for about 3 weeks of the season?

Circo Loco is Italian run, DC10, the building, is allegedly owned by a old Spanish woman. They get so much shit because they have exceeded the allowances of their licence so extremely, for so long. The new(ish) government are enforcing the laws ignored by the old administration, meaning DC10 has a (legal) capacity of 68 people.

I've just come back from Ibiza and was so so tempted to venture down to DC10 on monday. However, was advised that police would be everywhere searching anyone in the vicinity and that there's a possibility of not getting in because of the 'pizza licence for 68 people' thing. Was gutted, but went to see tiesto at priviledge instead and had the best night ever! I officially LOVE Ibiza.

lol. reminds me of favourite recent quote.

text to my mate from her mate whilst on the way to space:-

"watch out - they randomly search fannies & bumholes!"
Didn't get my fanny or bumhole searched in space, but they had a good feel of my boobs

My mate walked from jet to Space at lasts years openings with a load of tablets up his bum. When he got to Space they half heartedly tapped him down and then sent him straight in.

I found it hilarious. He didn't see the funny side though?

The only ever 'horror' stories ive heard about searches have been to do with DC10 when they were raided at the beginning of last season.

My friends once got caught in space just handing some over 2another of our friends and the bouncer was straight in, he took them off him looked at it and then closed them back in my mates hands. I did notice they were watching us like a hawk though and as soon as my mate pulled out some chewing gum they were in again. But clearly just making sure money wasn't being handed over.

Those Bouncers look scary but i just find them to be overly pervy.

same here - they did a much thorough search than last year at space - managed to get poppers in last year in my bag (had forgotten they were in there) would never have managed that this year! Me and my mates sat on the terrace last year and did a load of k we were watched by a security guy for ages and ages - basically until we could walk again. But he never actually approached us.
