DC10 Closed For 12 Months and 300,000 Euro Fine!! :-(
Spanish authorities have ordered Ibiza club DC10 to close for a year and pay a fine of €300,000, for over-crowding and noise pollution.

The hugely popular after-hours venue was hit with the ruling just days before it was due to re-open after being closed for 57 days for drugs problems last year and now faces a hugely uncertain future, according to Ibiza-Voice.com.

“DC 10 can contest the decision, they have one month to do so. The club should then be able to open next weekend till the end of the season,” the Balearic nightlife portal explained.

“As previously mentioned the threat against DC10 is stronger then ever,” Ibiza-voice added, “Enjoy it, as it could be the last days of DC10 as we know it.”

Meanwhile, British house music organization Azuli thumbed their noses at Ibiza’s increasingly harsh club crackdown, issuing a triumphant press release this week boasting about getting away with hosting an unlicensed beach party they staged featuring Radio 1 top dog Pete Tong.

“Azuli’s secret beach party in Ibiza on 6th August was closed down by police before it had a chance to get started,” Azuli’s press release explained.

“However, in the true spirit of the best underground parties, Azuli refused to take the closure lying down. They packed up all the equipment and moved the entire party to a new secret location,” it added.

“The music, chilled Balearic from the legendary Jon Sa Trinxa, through to the latest electronic edged house from David Piccioni and Pete Tong, saw the party gradually move from a laid back, beach affair into a packed out, hands in the air, unforgettable party as the night progressed,” they added.

Azuli also promised to host another illegal party in the near future that will be ‘even more underground’.

Some intelligent and informed opinions. Nice one gents. Where does that leave us now? Is it open today? I fly out on Saturday....is it likely to be open next Monday?

Possibly, but either they don't care enough to protest, or the march was only publicised to a minimal (ha ha) amount of people.

or they don't think it will make a difference?

i think the problem was the publicity though - i only made it thanks to a last minute reminder.

the people of ibiza are notoriously bad for that kind of stuff though. it was thought that the residents didn't care about politics at all until the famous march against the golf course.
the turnout was ridiculous for that (something like 2/3 of the population!) - be good if we could do that again!!

It appears those who organised the march are to be prosecuted for not having the required permission.

This report says there were only 150 people but as that figure is from the authorities we can probably assume it's understated.

Yep. You can also throw in el devino and eden into that mix.

Including Eden in that is misguided to say the least, much is changing in the whole of San An and with big names, money and publicity heading that way including Eden is a bit harsh. It has made some good changes over the last couple of years, and from experience can offer a much friendlier party experience than some more..."fruity" clubs ...they know who they are

obviously i'm biased but i've had a great time at wonderland this year.
they have managed to draw plenty of us from the east coast and it's actually a nice place to be.
i didn't expect pete tong's night to completely change the face of sanan but it has made a difference and that's all good in my book.

I went to Eden twice this summer and was pleasantly surprised - no nobs to speak of. Slut Party upstairs was rocking on the Tuesday night as well.
