Well here I am with the man, the myth, the legend Hoopz I sit down and have a chat with the man who will be banging out his birthday tunage @ Vinyl Destination

Word up Hoopz, how the devil are ya and what has been going on in your world over the past 12 months?
Good Day Master Dawson!! All is good in the hood… things have been incredible quiet to be honest but have been putting my master plan in place with lots of time in the studio working on new material, networking etc…
Though probably the biggest thing of the last 12 months for me was being signed to the Nu Energy Collective DJ Agency by Mr NEC himself Kevin Energy…
Your residency for the Vinyl Destination boys has recently moved back up to Birmingham, how do you think the clubbing atmosphere varies from Birmingham to down around your way you ssaaavvvaannaaaaaa? =oD
The brum crowd are always up for it and ive had a little bit of experience with you nutters over the years and enjoy it everytime but it has to be said that ill be bringing my Sarferner crew with me and we are going to show exactly how we do it!!! Haha
Hows life in the studio work coming on fella.. when are we going to see hoopz's name on the a track?
Funny you should say that as I do actually have a few under my name my good fellow!!! Ive collaborated on 2 tracks with the NEC in-house engineer K-Complex. We have produced “Definitions” which appeared on the Elevate – The Next Level album that was released last year and is due for release later this year on Elevate Whites with a Phil York remix.
Second up is “Live for the moment”… this is a rocking hard trance tune in my own personal style!!! Its signed to Nu Energy Recordings and is being cained in the NEC Live PA’s…
Ive also done bootlegs of 2 trance classics too… Blank & Jones – Cream and also the amazing Paul Van Dyke - For An Angel; this was only completed last Thursday though so no one has heard this yet!! But its filthy as you like!! Haha

How did you get in to the dance music scene?? And when are you leaving.. sorry pal.. only kidding love ya really ha ha
You say that mate but there was a rumour a few months ago that I may have been retiring!! Its not going to happen I can assure you!!! Haha I was first into my garage and was actually trying to get into a Garage Nation night back in ’99 when I just turning 16 but was rejected as they didn’t like our dodgy ID!! We went to another club and they were playing some major classics like Lock n Load and Sandstorm and I was hooked from there!!! Haha
Its gradually progressed through Trance to Hard Dance and I even like to get involved in a bit of Hardcore too!!!
How would you define your style of Hard House? (without out using the words driving, uplifting or euphoric... ok well maybe you can.... but only once lol)
That’s going to be a tough one and you aint given me much!! Haha Well I play an eclectic sound of Hard Dance!!! My sound is full of power, energy and exhilarating… I love a massive breakdown; the bigger the better!!! Hows that??
Dwarf
Monk
Donkey
3 legged, 1 eyed elephant
Have you slept with any of the above??(Ladies and Gentlemen this is a word exclusive)
Beastiality!! If I admit to any of this I could get sent to jail!!! But in a word!! NO!! haha
What 1 Vinyl Destination moment stands out in your mind?
Every Destination is mental and its so tough to choose just one moment!!! Ive loved every minute of every night ive been to and am honoured to be a resident!!! They are definitely a night to look out for and I recommend you give it a look over!!!

If you were putting a Blue Peter style time capsule in the ground and you hand to put 1 hard house track in to define what hard house is to you... what would it be?
There are so many but to me Hard House is all about the Paul Janes Remix of Legend B – Lost In Love!! Its got everything… banging kick and bass with a massive breakdown too!!!! AWESOME MR DAWSON!!
What can we expect from your badddddddd assssssssssssss Birthday shindigs @ OC's for Vinyl Destination?
Lots of upfront material mixed with some classics for good measure!! Ive been getting some massive stuff through from some talented up and coming producers like Lee Walls and Audio Hedz… Its going to rock I promise!!!
What else have you got coming up over the next few months?
It’s a busy time to be honest mate… we have the NEW NEC website due to launch so keep an eye out for that!! Also my new website will be live in September I think!!! Ive got 3 new mixes planned before the end of the year and im working with Audio Hedz, Paul F, K-Complex and Kevin Energy in the next couple of months in the studio!!!
Also planning to make a tune with you my good man!!! Haha There are loads of gigs planned from Destination, Freeformation, Frantic and loads of others too!!!
Hoopz you're an absolute legend, thanks for your time and have a wicked birthday
